Director of the Medical Library at Sultan Qaboos University, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Association for Libraries and Information, and Chairman of the Arab Associations and Information Institutions Committee at the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information. He is a board member of the Oman Research Repository (SHUAA).

He holds a master's degree in information studies and is a certified trainer in medical databases. Al-Hinaai is a researcher in the fields of libraries and information institutions in general, especially in matters related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) and its fields. He presented many scientific papers in local and regional conferences and held many training courses in the field of information studies.
