Archiving and Microfilming

This Division is responsible for cataloging, archiving and preserving valuable and unique collection items, including manuscripts, rare books, newspapers, periodicals, documents, and records. These materials are made available to students and researchers using microfilm and microfiche reading devices. The Archiving and Microfilming Department provides paid copying services for its users in digital or physical formats.

There are two units in this department: one specializes in microfilming and the other in microfiching. It also includes a collection of audio-visual resources. A wide range of Arabic and foreign newspapers, both local and international, dating from 1870 to 1999, have been archived electronically so that readers can access them in an optimal and efficient manner.
